Title IX Annual Reports
In 2016 and 2019, Georgetown University conducted university-wide Sexual Assault and Misconduct Climate Surveys to determine the prevalence of sexual misconduct on campus as well as student perceptions and attitudes on the issue. The 2016 and 2019 survey results yielded powerful information that continues to inform our policies and practices for preventing and responding to sexual misconduct within the Georgetown community.
Similar to the Sexual Assault and Misconduct Climate Surveys, the Office of Title IX Compliance has created Title IX Annual Reports with the goal of providing transparency regarding the prevalence of sexual misconduct reported by our community members and information about the utilization of supportive resources. The reports are focused mainly on the experiences of students. They share aggregated data and information regarding:
- alleged incidents (disclosures) of sexual misconduct reported to the Office of Title IX Compliance;
- cases formally adjudicated through the Office of Student Conduct;
- individuals supported by clinicians in the Office of Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Services within Health Education Services; and
- an overview of recent enhancements involving the University’s ongoing work preventing and responding to sexual misconduct on campus.
It is the hope of the Office of Title IX Compliance that this information will be used to educate the Georgetown community on the far-reaching impact of sexual misconduct, empower individuals to acknowledge and support one another, and be a reminder of the comprehensive resources available to serve and respond to the needs on campus.
